Cannabis-infused cooking oil

Cannabis-infused cooking oil has become a popular ingredient in many recipes, as it allows users to experience the medicinal benefits of cannabis without the need for inhalation. By making your own cannabis-infused cooking oil, you can easily incorporate this therapeutic ingredient into your favorite meals. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to make your own medical cannabis-infused cooking oil.

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 cup of your favorite cooking oil (such as olive, coconut, or avocado oil)
  • 1 gram of high-quality medical cannabis flower (you can adjust the amount based on your preferred dosage)
  • Cheesecloth or fine-mesh strainer
  • Saucepan
  • Thermometer
  • Oven
  • Baking sheet
  • Grinder or food processor

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 240°F (115°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the cannabis flower evenly on it. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, or until the flower is lightly browned and fragrant. This process, known as decarboxylation, activates the cannabinoids in the cannabis, making them more potent and bioavailable.

2. Grind the decarboxylated cannabis flower into a fine powder using a grinder or food processor. Make sure to remove any stems or seeds before grinding.

3. In a saucepan, heat the cooking oil over low heat. Add the ground cannabis and stir well to combine. Use a thermometer to monitor the temperature, ensuring it stays below 200°F (93°C) to prevent the oil from burning.

4. Let the oil and cannabis mixture simmer for 2 to 4 hours, stirring occasionally. The longer the mixture simmers, the more potent the oil will be. You can adjust the time based on your preferred dosage and the strength of the cannabis flower.

5. Once the mixture has simmered, remove, and strain out the cannabis pieces from your oil. Enjoy.
